RENDER CLEANING SERVICES BASED IN BRISTOL
Does your property’s exterior rendering look tired and dirty?
Before you consider removal or re-rendering, find out more about our Softwash render cleaning service.
Although render is a popular choice for all types of building, it can appear to fade over time because of a build-up of algae, mosses, and lichens.
All types of rendered surfaces can look fresh and clean again and the effects of algae and lichen can be reduced. Everything can look as good as new, so your building will continue to appear attractive and well maintained.
Why is my rendering discoloured?
Softwash is a safe and environmentally friendly way to remove the build-up of organic material and atmospheric pollution from your building’s exterior render. Weather can also add to staining and discolouration. Over time these stains can become very unattractive, spoiling the appearance of your property.
Your render could also have extensive green staining on the north and east sides of your building where there is less natural sunshine. This is especially common on buildings close to water where humidity increases the likelihood of contamination caused by spores from nearby trees or other large areas of foliage. This problem can become worse in warmer and more humid weather.
Long-lasting removal of render staining
Our low-pressure equipment can be used from the ground in most cases, avoiding the need for expensive and disruptive scaffolding. It gently cleans surfaces, reducing the risk of damage that can occur when high pressure treatments are used. Almost any rendered surface can benefit from a Softwash treatment, including painted render and pebble and spa dashed finishes.
To help overcome the problems of staining, we can also combine your Softwash treatment with low-pressure Doff steam cleaning, which is often used on heritage buildings. It is the finishing touch for cleaning and decontamination of your exterior rendered surfaces for long-lasting results.
What is Softwash?
This gentle cleaning technique is a good option to prevent as well as remove contamination including:
stains
carbon deposits
algae
UV damaged surfaces
mould
moss
spores
lichens
Although the technique has been available in the UK for 30 years, it is still relatively unknown and under-used as a solution for discoloured rendering. The technique was developed from methods used in horticulture to spray plants for fungi and bacteria.
It avoids the need for high pressure washing, which will often only remove surface contamination without tackling the root cause, and which can damage your rendered surfaces. This means the effects of a Softwash treatment are likely to last much longer than other approaches.
